On this episode of the Friends of the Medford Public Library podcast, Sam Sednek and Bruce Patterson discuss the successful Book and Bake sale from this past weekend. They also discuss a wide range of topics from e-books, fines, the amnesty book return program, why Bruce waited 30 years to return a book he never read. Sam highlights the resource rich library as they both discuss the Library of Things.

Is your house haunted by ghosts? Know for sure by checking out the “ghost meter”. You might laugh but its one of the most popular items checked out of the library. In fact the library has had to replace the last one due to heavy usage. This also pairs nicely for Dan Brown fans and his new book – “The Secret of Secrets,” Your loved ones may still be with you!

Are you learning to cook? Maybe make bread for the first time? Yes, the library has an air fryer, portable induction cooking plate AND a bread maker just to name a few kitchen items. You can literally spend a good chunk of time checking out one of the many items available. Who among us doesn’t know a struggling musician? Or maybe you want to try a new instrument, the library has a guitar, keyboard and more importantly editing software! All of this that is free to use. The list is endless and so are the possibilities.
