Medford Happenings

As the first Medford Poet laureate, Terry Carter say “If you know, you know”. We’ve had a lot going on over the last few weeks. We’ve started the new year off with a bang. Our guests have been impactful and supportive of Medford residents and the community at large. There is very definitely a communications gap here in Medford and while we hope to fill in some of those gaps, there are other folks who are just as interested in taking this torch. There are also community groups who are also working in their various circles to address the same issue. The city council has their own initiative and I imagine that at some point all of these folks could collaborate and work together. Anyone who has used the linux desktop is familiar with this common issue. Many people create basically the same thing because they didn’t get any traction on their issues so they “fix” the problem by creating their own brand of the same application. Here is hoping to get that collapsed into one giant community group.

Finally, you’ll notice that we’ve been scaling back our blog presence as we’re trying to avoid redundancy. Yes its good for data backups but for community resources, not so much. With that I would like to draw your attention to Gotta Know Medford. This digital online paper has been growing in leaps and bounds over the last year and in the last few months you’ll notice that they have significantly stepped up their game and are bringing you more stories that directly affect the community and its residences. They fill in a much needed gap for news reporting and being a true, trusted source.
