This festival kicked off on Friday with the Vertigo Trio and the Reese Pike Trio, and they both did a phenomenal job. Combining a mixture of jazz standards and original pieces, Friday’s event was a packed house. The shows were streamed live through Medford Community Media and the complete show will be uploaded shortly, we’ll provide links to those shows.
While both bands were outstanding, Saturday’s event brought a simply outstanding vocalist and band leader, Farayi Malek. This of course was followed up by the extraordinary piano player Mina Cho. Each year the Medford Jazz Festival brings talent to the city of Medford that incredibly just gets better with each year. This was no different. If you attended you would have been impressed. For now, if you have nothing to do today or even if you do, make your way over the the West Medford Community Center and spend the afternoon with us all and enjoy the outstanding music that Jonathan Fagan and the rest of the board continue to bring to Medford.
